I getting bits'n'pieces of info from different threads, but nowhere have I seen a full definition and how it works. Thanks!!!

I would say it is relatively easy to get $200 under invoce in So. Cal. Only question is: what is really the invoice price??

The other day i came to one of my local dealer to get an ES350 premium plus with nav. and all other accessories. It's priced at MSRP 41522, the dealer showed me an invoice price of 36800. I knew they were BSing because based on my calculation, the invoice was only at 36,200. I let them BS for a while and then showed them how i came up with my price 36200+tax+license+doc fee = 39,400 OTD. They stopped BSing and gave me that price after 5 mins of negotiation.

I'll call up some other dealers to see if they can beat that price. And i am pretty sure they will.

BTW, the invoice they give you may not be the real invoice price. Come up with your own invoice price.

How do you come up with your own invoice? I assume by internet research from sites like KBB? Its amazing what you can do with price negotiation on West Coast. If they turn your offer down, you walk across the street to another dealer Here, you will have to pack your bag and take a long trip LOL!!! In some other places, people get on the plane and than drive back in their new Lexus for a day or two.

Here in Jersey its different when you're buying something like Toyota. I remember it was fun negotiating a price of my wife's '05 Highlander with 5 dealers in 30 mile radius to get it down to invoice price

I actually used Consumerguide.com

http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/N...61/Act/Prices/

It seems like they just updated thier invoice price list on Nov. 14,06

Standard Prem. Plus with Nav. which MSRP at 42,522 is actually at 36,357 at invoice now.

When i calculated my invoice price (36,200), it was around late September. Dont know if i made the mistake or it's consumerguide who changed thier invoice price list.

I was told by a Lexus dealer the new top end premium plus w/Nav are going to be coming with rear spoiler and xm radio already installed. This is the price difference. The first few configured like this are beginning to roll in. I don't know if Lexus is still going to produce the top premium plus package w/Nav without the spoiler and xm radio. Time to get on their website again and see if they have changed their packaged options (again)...

Went to the dealership yesterday and looked at one with nav with MSRP of 41,312. The dealer is willing to go to 39,500 OTD. This doesnt seem too bad.

I'm hoping to get them down to 39000 OTD considering they are making about 1300 according to my current calculations.

Default Es

I was just at my dealer over Turkey Day Weekend. I've been thinking about going back to an ES from my 06 GS300. He said $500 below invoice. ( I do have a L O N G standing relationship with my dealer ) The dealer is in Calif.

Just got my ES350 Premium Plus w/ Nav. MSRP 41,522 for 39,300 Out the Door at Lexus Westminster, So Cal.

The car drives smoothly w/o any problem (wind noise, trans flare, rattles) so far. I'm quite happy with my purchase. Thanks you guys and CL. I've gained a lot of knowledge here that's absolutely valuable for my buying process.
