Funny wind noise comment.
My wife, kids and mother in law were driving home from a long trip in my GL450 today. I was doing about 70mph, it was pouring rain and there was a viscious crosswind that I could feel. All of a sudden my mother in law says, "Even though it's windy outside and it's raining super hard, how come I can't hear wind noise in this car like in my car (ES350)?" I couldn't help but smile but then she added, "My Camry didn't didn't have that problem and it's driving me crazy, is there something wrong with my car?"
I guess I have to make an appointment Mon.

No question the wind noise is not the Michelin's or Toyos or any other tire since it originates at or near A, B, pillar area and points surrounding. There are threads on this issue. Sadly, even the dealers are aware of it and can do nothing as rule for those who are experiencing it, or less helpful, rename it buffeting and claim it represents the normal operation of an ES350 whether other ES350 have it or not.

Possible cause of wind noise?
The quote below was taken from a Motortrend article that I found at the address listed below. Could this be the source of the wind problem we have been complaining about?
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...7_lexus_es_350
"And yet, the ES 350 has its flaw. In this excruciatingly quiet sedan, there's a bit of wind noise at speed coming off the front door handles. Lexus engineers have identified the problem, and by the time you read this, there should be a fix in place. You've been warned: The perfect car is out there."

The ...by the time you read this ...part didn't pan out for us with it and seems not to involve the door handles at all.

Bob and I have discuessed this problem in depth and he is very aware of my wind noise issue. We are definitely talking about wind noise and not tire noise. It sounds like a window that is not completely closed. There are a lot of threads discussing the same wind noise issue on CL. The purpose of my post was not to re-hash the same problem, it was just to relay a funny comment for those already in the loop. Thank for the advice anyways.

Don't believe I said michelin's were associated with "wind noise".
As you said in your post, the Michelin's were noisy over concrete surfaces and expansion joints, and that was one of the main reasons you changed tires. I am experiencing just such noise, and imho, it may be interpreted as wind noise to some. sorry for the confusion.....
