You folks might want to consider this--IF the ES 350 fuel pump is located INSIDE the fuel tank, I would seriously recommend that you not run the fuel tank to near-empty on a regular basis...the fuel helps in part to keep the fuel pump relatively "cool" (i.e., not be susceptible to overheating), thus possibly avoiding premature fuel pump failure.
Put it another way--if the fuel pump is indeed located inside the tank and you have an out-of-warranty fuel pump failure? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to comprehend how much it will cost in labor to remove it...

My thanks to all who posted responses. Knowing a good estimate of your reserve is important on those occassions when you got to be somewhere and you simply don't have time to stop for gas. Thanks for the posts concerning potential problems of waiting too long on a regular basis or continuing to add more after the automatic shut-off.
