Steering wheel click or rattle

Hey ThunderES,
I have an '07 IS250 that is barely a month old and has the same issue. I searched for this same problem all over and found a post at another site where they figured out it was the SS line/cable inside the steering column. It kinda makes sense since the noise is not consistent and would be explained by a loose cable. I haven't had a chance to take apart the steering column and verify this but planning to do so soon. I'll let you know what I find. Hopefully others with the same issue will find this thread and verify this for themselves.

I too thought I had a steering wheel rattle - totally intermittent.
Turns out it had something to do with the air conditioner. A louver of sorts under the dash by the drivers legs has something to do with regulating the a/c. Once I did a test drive with a tech he figured it out by turning the temp all the way up, then all the way down quickly - the sound was duplicated each time. I was shocked because I thought it was the steering wheel.
Anyways,
he just lubed it and it went away. This may not be your issue, but try the temp adjustment with your a/c running and see if thats it.

I have a service appointment tomorrow regarding an issue with the breaks. I will ask the dealer to check this issue as well. I have this clicking sound when I turn and I thought it is nothing but now I am sure that there is a problem with my car. Thank you,
