Sorry to get off topic, Dreyfus.
Wow, that is a very little known "fact"

No bother though, it would be whichever relied mostly on knuckle walking that would have the easier go of sliding things around on the ground since they were low to the ground as it were.

Aside from that, attaching a ball by string to the ceiling would require mastery of walking upright, balance issues you know.

Next time you pull your car into the garage, after making sure that the car is in the correct spot, put a brick on the ground in front of one of your front wheels so that whenever you pull in you'll always hit the brick and know that you're in the right spot.

Sorry again.

Similiar to the brick approach, I purchased a Parking Target from http://www.ipiproducts.com/parkingtarget/. Surprisingly, it works very well and it doesn't move either (a month in use now).

This had nothing to do with the sensors because the car was in the driveway, but I'd rather have a scratched bumper than something much worse.
No reason you can't mount two sets of sensors on the door. Depends on if the sensor is normally open or normally closed if you would need to mount in series or in parallel. That way both would have to be clear for the door to lower.
