Default And Who Designed The Placement Of The Seat Warmer/Ventillation Controls?

...The Marquis de Sade?

Someone who owned a lot of shares in Hospital Corporations of America?

The American Contortionist Association?

Why didn't they just put them on the rear deck next to the center brake light?

They'd be about as easy to access back there.

Were the Lexus designers so impressed with the universally hated BMW I-Drive system that they wanted to come up with something equally unergonomic but uniquely their own?

it's a trade off for uncluttering the center control panel.

Also, once you get used to the position, you don't have to look down to make the adjustments. It's like anything new....you have to learn until it becomes second nature.

So true. I have owned Nissans, Hondas (and Acuras), Toyotas (and Lexus), and Mazdas. They all have their own way of positioning things. It took me a little while for each but once I got used to them, I can do almost anything without looking.

I'm all for uncluttered consoles and I have gotten used to where these controls are, but their placement still sucks out loud and I would pay good money to move them forward to someplace more accessible.

Yeah, but it might be nice to at least have a shot of finding it without going on an easter egg hunt!

The placement of those controls makes the retarded BMW I-Drive system look like a Nobel laureate of ergonomic design.

Oh, come on. It's not that bad. Yesterday, after reviewing this thread I was out in the car, and all you have to do is look to the side and down a bit to see the controls. Granted, I wouldn't want to fiddle with them too much while driving in traffic, but on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being terrible location, I'd give 'em a 5. To be honest, I forget to use them a lot of the time.

I don't think the control's placement is convenient, but I have no problem learning to use it without looking. It takes a little time, but I won't complain.
