Changing the oil filter

The filter housing is easy to access, although it's a canister with an insert not a spin on. This link gives good instructions for the Avalon. The process is virtually the same for the ES 350 since it's the same power train. I've done two changes with no issues, once on a lift and once in my driveway. Prime the canister with oil before you reinstall it to minimize dry a start up.

I bought the filter kit from the Toyota dealer for $6 (part # 04152-YZZA1). I know it's the correct part because the parts guy called the Lexus dealer to confirm.
I drained the oil and had it installed in no time. It's an easy oil change.
