Default Secret Menu Help!

Ok.... i decided to try the secret NAV menu because I am sick of not being able to input destination while driving. I assume with this hack you can also dial your phone from the screen menu....

So I do: Menu, volume, upper left corner, lower left corner, upper left corner, lower left corner. I get into the secret menu, and pushed Override. Then I push back or any other button to get out of the menu. My on-screen commands are still greyed out when i drive....what did i do wrong??? Please advise.

you are supposed to keep your finger on the overide icon until it is highlighted... takes a few seconds... then push back and it should work. i don't have an ES but thats how i do it on my is250

Thanks! I'll try it. Does this hack also override the phone key pad so i can dial while driving? If so this is sooooo worth it. Only 5 key strokes total, which I can do while car is warming up!

No. Just for the NAV. Also, this only works on the Generation 5 DVD (its what came with my car when I bought it in April). If you upgrade the version 6 DVD, they've removed this override/hack/workaround.

There is a work around for DVD 6.1. I had a thread going to ask how to copy (the process) a double layer DVD for my own personal use as I will own both 5.1 and 6.1 DVD as I own 2 Lexus cars but it caused some problems here, so I requested the thread be removed to keep everyone happy. Probably I’ll get blasted again, so I mean no disrespect. Check with the Toyota site they have been working on it for some time and it works.

ok... it works for me. The NAV is accessible the whole time.... too bad the phone keypad is still greyed out. Is there a way around the phone menu so I can dial while driving? I notice only the speed dial keys are accessible.

Could you please tell me where to find the workaround for the 6.1 Navigation. You said to look at the "Toyota" site but I'm not sure which Toyota site. Any help is appreciated.

Phone keypad enabling will probably require cutting and rewiring speedlock wire on the back. I did that with my GS, and it comes handly when I have to dial a number from a speedial which requires entering an extention afterwards. This "hack" also enables the mp3 file/folder view while you are driving. Just need to find an electric diagram for ES audio module in the back to figure out what to cut

The Manual Nav Hack Switch works for all the speed lockout functions, nav, phone, and music displays. That is why I went to the trouble of installing it.

Unfortunately, I know of nothing easier to do what you want.

Dreyfus, i wish i were as handy as you are with electricals. How long did the manual nav hack take from beginning to end? Do you think there are people out there who are willing to do this for a fee? I'd happily pay someone to do this.... i am so annoyed by the restrictions it aint funny.
