Black Sapphire paint
Anyone that has the Black Sapphire color care to comment on it as far as satisfaction and care? I have seen the color and like it, but I am curious if it is very distinguishable from black under most lighting. Is it as difficult as black to care for?

I have it and it does come off black at times from a distance. That is until you step up to it and everyone likes the dark blue tint. The UL panoramic roof is almost stealth looking. I have not waxed the car as yet but it is like black -difficult to keep clean but when it is, it is very nice and striking. We have the cashmere interior.

Mine looks more black from a distance, from up close it can change depending on angle and lighting. A striking blue comes out at night under street lights.
Like any dark car where it snows, the road chems really show up on it.
I've only washed it twice, once by hand and once in a brushless, then it looks great from any angle.

The deep blue looks great. It really comes out in the sun. This would have been a first color choice had I not had concerns over the required maintenance headache for very dark colors. I went with the TP and am very satisfied.

I'm loving the power of the "Dark Side". My black car looks awsome now (only a week old) but I know it will be a pain after it gets that nice yellow/green coat of pollen when spring hits.

I agree, the car looks great with a dark color. However, I too did go with TP mainly because of the maintenance required on dark colors. I will say the contrast of the TP and the glass roof on my UL looks great. My personal favorite is a Ruby UL with black interior.

I have the UL Ruby with black interior and do like the color very much.
We're in the midst of a thaw right now, and the resulting roads are no help in keeping things clean. I haven't hand washed it yet, but am looking forward to it. I haven't found a "wand" car wash that will get the vehicle truly clean.
Any tips from anyone on where to purchase good cleaning equipment online for the spring? My local car shops don't seem to carry any of the microfiber scratch free cloths.
I don't want to hand wash and discover that I've introduced a *****load of swirls and scratches....

I love my black ES, I always sucker myself into black cars- 5 of them right now
Not a huge fan of mettalic blacks or white pearls- they tend to look dirty to me
the blacker the car, the darker the windows, the shinier the rims- all the better!

I've gotten many compliments on the Black Sapphire Pearl color, but a few people have mistaken it for black. Usually happens at dusk -- sunlight makes the blue much easier to see.
Pollen is a never-ending battle though....
