Smile NAV DVD Gen 5, V6.1 Diagnostic Screen

All,

Here is a picture of the diagnostic screen in the Gen 5, V6.1 NAV disk. The blank spot may be where the OVERRIDE was originally. These instructions were posted on the Lexus forum.

Too bad pressing the missing space followed by the top and bottom of the scree two times won't make the override appear. I think that the company that makes the darn thing (Denso) took off the override to satisfy the grannies at Mrs. Lexus' car company.

I hate the damm "Nanny Culture". First it was foie gras, then my Lexus controls while driving. What next, french fries?

Come on you guys, start flooding Coastaletech with e-mails so they get the message about our plight.

Hmmm, given the specific location of that blank spot...it sorta implies that it may somehow be there after all (i.e., it could be "masked")? I say this because on the V5.1 disc, the Override button was the third soft-button from the top, in the left-hand column; for V6.1 they could have laid the buttons out so that it looks as if the Override button was never there, or perhaps have that blank spot in the same position that the V5.1 Override button held...yet chose to leave a blank spot as indicated in the pic.
