18" G-Spiders on my ES
I have been considering going to 18" wheels and decided to go with the accessory wheel for the GS, 18" G-Spiders. Used Yokohama AVS ES100 tires in a 225/45 x 18 size. The thing I liked about these tires were that they had the largest tread width relative to the overall section width. They have 8.7 inches of tread on the ground, 1.2 more than the standard Michelin tires!

How's the ride and fuel consumption?
ESsearch,
Looks great! Been absent for months enjoying my ES350. How is the ride and mpg on the fuel? I am thinking of upgrading the wheels to this one as well.
Thanks...

Thanks for the comments.
PhilipMSPT - Yes, a bit of a drop would look great but I don't know anyone that makes springs for an ES and I especially don't want to effect the ride negatively.
cyke - I think the ride has only a tiny bit stiffer and the tires have just a bit more road noise. Not a surprise (or excessive) for a 45 aspect ratio and 1.2" more rubber slapping the road. A regular passenger said he could not tell any difference. The fuel mileage should not be affected as the tires are only 0.3" smaller in diameter and turn only 8 more revolutions per mile. I was careful to match the stock diameter and revolutions as closely as I could.

Posted in the other thread, too, but the wheels look so good it bears repeating. Excellent choice!
Kind of funny, I mentioned to my wife that some GS take-offs would look really nice on her car, which semi-fits your decision to go with the accessory ones. The ES is one of those cars that really needs the "right" wheel style and yours undoubtedly fits the bill.
In lieu of a drop, maybe the next time tires come into play you could consider 245's? That extra bit of sidewall might help with the perspective of gap in the wheel wells.

In any case, thank you for pretty much confirming that the 18" GS wheels will work on the ES 350.
