2007 ES350 Base Radio
Just purchased my ES350. I absolutely love it except for one minor issue. I feel that the radio (basic model) is not loud enough. I have tried every position (driver, front. rear) and still I have to put it up to a volume level of 30 before I begin to hear it. Also the Aux-IPOD volume is even lower. Does anybody else have the same issue? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

On your past vehicles, the audio system may have been set up to reach a good listening volume at 1/4 or 1/3 of max on the volume control. But at 1/2 or 2/3, that same radio would start to send a clipped signal to the amps. The Lexus audio team/guy may have set up these radios to go to max volume without distortion. Your source material (CD, radio, AUX) may not be recorded at 0 dB. How is your hearing?
The position of the volume **** is just a relative point. In the end, does it get loud enough for you while still sounding distortion free?
And yes, I have the base radio with the XM add-on.

Thanks Robert,
I definitely see what you mean. The speakers probably would get distorted if the audio was louder. Unfortunately 10 year old Camry had better sound. I'm sorry I did not get the ML sound system. Otherwise the car is great.
Thanks for your insight.
