Default I need some advice

My dealer offer me a bundle package for extended 7 years / 100,000 miles warranty and 4 year / 50,000 miles pre-paid maintenance.
The price is $3995.

The extended warranty is offer by a 3rd party called First Extended Service Corporation. It has a $50 deduction/time. And the dealer said new parts will be used everytime and the warranty has a $2500 value in fact.

The pre-paid maintenance includes all the maintenance listed on the manual (the first time comes free with the car). And they will pick up the car from my home or work and drop it off by the end of the day. If the work can not be finished in the same day, they will drop a Lexus for use when they pick up my car.

Since I am a first Lexux owner, any one knows whether it is a good deal?

Any one had try that bundle before?

Any one has any idea about how much it is going to cost for the maintenance for the 4 years / 50,000 miles if I don't purchase the pre-paid maintenance package?

Personally I would pass. If you itemize the service due from 0 to 50,000 miles, I don't think it adds up to that. Plus, if you are financing the car, you are paying interest on that $3995. The warranty alone runs about $1,000 to $1,200 from what I remember.

I have 17K miles on mine and have spent $200 to date.

These products are loaded with profit for the dealer.

Good points. They are VERY profitable for the dealer.

If you're not financing, you could put the $4,000 they want for the warranty into a money market paying 4%-5%. If you need some money for non-warranty service or repairs after the factory warranty expires, it's there. If not, you have the original $4K plus the interest.

I too would pass on this offer. Doing what this maintenance package is going to cover I would only expect to pay about $1,000 for the 50K miles. If you really plan to keep the car beyond the 4 year factory warranty period you might shop around for an extended warranty but his deal just looks to me like too much money for the selling dealer.

Enjoy your new Lexus.

Cool

baby doll know what's cheaper than an extended warranty plan??? doing maintenance ontime.

promise... if you put fresh oil and transmission fluid in it. the engine & transmission will likely outlast you lol! hahahaha sad fact of life i know the chances say you either wreck the car, or die before the v6 & its transmission give up the ghost to an owner / operator that *actually* does routine maitenance.

that boils down to nothing more than changing the transmission fluid every three years/30,000 miles (regardless of what the book says, and spending $50 ona transmission cooler is god's golden gift to very long transmission life) and the engine oil every 5000-7500 miles.

that's about it... check the rubber CV joint boots every now and then. & replace when cracked before the axle is damaged... replace the rubber mounts & bushings, and struts/springs after 10 years if you want the suspension to be 100%... (notice the trend that mother nature > rubber regardless of who makes it) replace the oxygen sensors in 10 years... change the fuel filter in 10 years... change the spark plugs every 3-6 years...

really just not a whole hell of alot to do on a toyota to make them run 300,000+ miles. (or 20 years for the average person)

all goes back to changing the oil every 5000-7500miles & changing the transmission fluid every 3 years or so... like i said. to the owners that do atleast that the odds are you die before the f'ing car does.

RUN!!!

As fast as you can.

This is the biggest rip-off in the industry.

Don't even think about taking this.

They're literally stealing your money.

I think you should not look at extended warranty other than the Lexus Certified - do not buy it until just before your 4 years/50k miles, it is fully (prorated) refundable, and if you are keeping your car, wonderful peace of mind. Be aware, it is insurance, but the money back option is great. Usually in December, they give a 10% discount off of the cost.
