Exclamation Auxiliary Audio Input Port Noise TSIB L-AU001-07 Finally Released!

For all those who have noticed the electrical noise issue when running audio through the aux audio input, as of August 10th, 2007 there is officially a TSIB to fix it! Looks like they are putting an in-line filter in to clear that issue up. This fix is for the '06-'07 IS250/IS350, the '07 ES350, and the '07 LS460. It is TSIB #L-AU001-07 NOISE FROM AUXILIARY PORT WITH EXTERNAL DEVICE

I have attached the .pdf to this post and will also be posting this info in the other appropriate Lexus car forums.

Another example of Lexus's poor treatment of their customers. Add it to the list

They don't get it, do they?

Is this noise a constant noise? I only hear a little pop when plugging my Ipod in, and then only if I forget to turn the power off at the radio.

Please forward me their phone number. I would like to discuss the cold engine knock issue with them. The dealers in my area have no clue. Maybe I could get some suggestions that I could pass along. Thanks!

This is the most helpful post I have found. I listen to an external satellite radio unit through the auxillary port and I can't stand the noise which I believe is interference from the transmission. ben r - thank you very much for posting this info.

Yea, when I experienced it I had a 30Gb current version iPod plugged in with a brand new Radio Shack gold male to male headphone 6' cable and a brand new Monster Cable cigarette charger plugged in as well. When the charger is plugged in at the same time as playing playing music there is a horrible low hiss that you can hear through all the speakers. Doesnt matter which cables I tried or which chargers I tried (because I have several of each), or even which generation of ipod (have a couple of those too), they all made the noise.

It's great to hear about some of the Lexus dealers treating their customers as they expect to be treated. Our dealership is great.
It's a shame that others have problems with their dealers.

Do you still hear the noise when the charger is not connected and you are using only the power in the iPod? I don't have any issues with the ML audio and using the iPod. Maybe it's the power supply that is causing the static.

I had mine fixed yesterday. There is a noticable difference but the hiss is still present. I would say it is about 30% reduced at low speeds and 80% reduced at high speeds. The dealership had to order the parts so the car was there for 2 days. They gave me an RX loaner. I was not impressed- was glad to get my ES back. Thanks for the info.
