Pre-collision radar failure
My wife had the "check PCS system" warning light come on when engaging the cruise control. The radar had been acting up on the car for the last several months as mentioned in a previous post. Because not many ES350's have the radar this was a new adventure for the dealer. They opened a case # with Lexus to seek advice.
They replaced the distance control electronic control unit (ECU). The sensor was frozen on the left side. They reset the radar learn values and adjusted the vertical radar wave. It now appears to be working.
I am now worried about keeping this car past warranty as the failure rate on the new "bells and whistles" is pretty high. That's what happens when you get every option available. See my post on the navigation issue.

funny you mention not keeping past the warranty, exact reason Im getting rid of my 4Runner, mechanical it has been a dream, electronics have been not what I expected, thank gosh for my extended bumper to bumper warranty other wise this Toyota would have cost me 7000 in parts and labor
the ES will be traded, simply because I do not want to see an out of warranty repair bill for this car
