So i've been on this forum for a while now but no one has posted anything about adding a sound system into their ES. Like subs, amp and the whole works. I'm just curious if doing this would void the warranty and also how do you integrate the 6 disk cd changer into the system? Since the new sound system will probably be controlled from another deck, how does it all work? I know nothing about this kinda stuff so i'm getting a buddy to possiblly help me, but i'd like everyones input too. Thanks in advance!

if you are just looking for some boom boom then you can just get a sub and amp and tap it with RCA to your rear speaker. that way you dont have to get a new radio. btw i doesnt void your warranty.

it doesnt void warranty.. i added a gianormous sub to my car.. the only problems i get from lexus is that whenever i take it in for a problem they have to consider that i messed with electronics before they fix something under warranty...

That's the rule. It sorta voids the warranty. Basically, it'll void anything you modified or your modifications may have affected. So, if you add a system, the warranty on the factory sound system and the electronics could be void. They're supposed to prove your mods affected your warranty, but I've never heard of a dealer doing that. They just claim it did without checking and won't fix it under warranty. It's normally not worth it to fight it in a courtroom.

I work at a dealer (Not Lexus). When we get cars with sound systems, all we can void replacing under warranty is the battery, alternator, and maybe the starter.
There was one case where the customer messed with the fuse box and ran after-market wires and melted parts of the wiring harness, but that was one special case.
