Traded in my IS for an '08 ES!
Got my '08 Ruby Red ES with the premium package tonight, I traded in my '03 IS for it. Doesn't drive very sporty like my IS did, but I really welcome the space and better fuel economy! I wanted a Ruby Red with HID lights, but they didnt have one and they told me I'd wait for a couple weeks, so I just took this one. I am wanting to do the Xenon Depot HID kit for the headlights and fogs, will this kit illuminate the road as well as a stock HID? Wish there were SOME mods for this car! Here's a quick and dirrrty pic from my cell...

Congratulations on your new ride. The car looks great, but what I cannot believe is the someone has that clean of a garage. In comparison, mine is a junkyard.

I had an IS250 AWD last year while I went through the transmission repair, replacement etc. I like the car a lot but the lack of back seat legroom would be a deal breaker (and knee too).

I dunno if you looked at the trunk, but that, along with the small back seat, were the deal breakers for me. I was willing to overlook the claustrophobic feel of the front seats (and I'm not even that big). Even my wife thought it felt small. I think the only person who thought it feels fine is our friend who's 4'10".

Lexus claims the current IS has more room than the IS300, but sure doesn't seem so. The rear leg room is atrocious, and the look of the bigger and higher dashboard adds to the claustrophobic feel.
I wish Lexus would have added at least one hook with the reading light, I use it pretty often! But I do like all the LEDs now. One other thing I noticed today that I like is the hook on both sides of the cargo net(the plastic part it attaches to in the trunk). Convenient to hang grocery bags if it doesn't fit in the net!

Lexus of Vegas gave me $15.5 for my IS. It was a Sportdesign with 44K miles. The only thing left on it that made it a SD was the wheels and full leather---the tails, headlights, fogs, grill and even the chrome tipped exhaust were all swapped out by the Vegas my.is guys! Now the dealer is asking $24k for that car!
One cool feature I like about my new ES is how the volume level is kept for each ---I had to turn the volume up alot when I plugged in my ipod, but then when I changed back to FM, it had adjusted to the original much lower volume level I had on FM.
I do wish Lexus had put a light or two illuminating the Homelink buttons like in the RX.

I thought the Xenon Depot Xtreme kits were made in Japan, its the smaller ballasts that are made in China. I noticed that alot of people here have installed Xenon Depot kits, so I assumed they were quality.
Anyone do a HID kit for the headlights or fogs for the ES? I am just wondering if the light will be just as good or better with my stock halogens than with an HID kit.
