Did any of you go with an aftermarket alarm?

I am wondering how many people went with an aftermarket alarm and why.
From what I understand the immobilizer feature is quite effective.
I just don't know if I can trust the alarm feature. On my Accord, I have a sophisticated Clifford alarm with two battery backup sirens and a vibration sensor to detect messing with the window or door. It offers a nice sense of extra security. My guess is that the Lexus alarm just sounds the horn and can be disabled by pulling the battery cable and won't detect intrusion until the door is opened. However with a brand new $45K luxury car, I am quite uneasy having even the best shop cut up the car's wiring for an aftermarket alarm which most likely would prevent my from using the Lexus fob and pushbutton ignition. Looking for opinions.

I didn't get an aftermarket alarm...I suspect the ES is not high on any car thieve's list, and I wonder how you could coordinate an aftermarket alarm with the keyless access system. Is theft a big thing where you live?

Theft isnt a big problem where I live. However I am on the road QUITE A BIT and my biggest concern is a smash and grab for stuff in my interior even if concealed. My accord alarm sounds the moment someone agressively pushes on the vehicle. This early warning has scared off thieves and saved my car from a broken window and lost posessions.
