Default black floormats vs. Beige with Scotchgard

VegasIS showed us his black floormats in a beige interior which look fantastic and are a great idea. My other option is to try the beige floormats but use Scotchgard. Have any of you had luck keeping your beige matts somewhat clean with Scotchgard? Thanks

I had fabric protector applied to the grey carpet on an old Camry of ours. Supposed to be better stuff than Scotchgard. Helps, but still gonna get dirty. We got the clear plastic floormats shortly after. I think that's the best option if you want to keep the beige floormat look.

I tried using Scotchguard on the floormats in my old IS. That was a waste of money, it barely did any "guarding"!

go with the black if ordering cashmere interior, you'll be glad you did, it looks real sharp and no matter what you do the beige shows dirt, water etc..

To get an idea of how it will look just ask dealer to place one in a demonstrator for you.

I applied Scotchguard to my beige mats within the first hours and it usually is beneficial but with these mats it really didn't seem to help at all although they do clean up "reaonsably" well. I've had beige mats in several cars and never found them as difficult to keep clean as these.

I may have had a clue to the mat issue as I was negotiating on my ES and overheard two customers withing an hour complain about the service dept. getting their mats dirty. I had always found the service department to be pretty careful about this and was a little suprised. Then as I drove out in my car my wife immediately said the floor mat is dirty - only the salesman had been in the car to show me a couple of features.

The idea of black mats sounds interesting.

Wife took a friend out for lunch today. Floormats were ok due to the clear mats, but that friend managed to put several black marks on the side carpet in the footwells. <sigh>

I got home from work last night and pulled my suburban into the garage beside my wife's 3 week old ES350 with cashmere interior. I opened the passenger door and sank into the leather for a quick hit of "that new car smell" before going inside. What? There's mud all over the mats! I went in and yelled, "Who held a rodeo in the front seat of the new car?" To which my 13 year old daughter replied, "Jeez dad, it's just dirt." And so it begins. I think I'm going to follow Alan's lead and get some black mats this weekend.

Default Did you have to buy 2 sets of matts?

I decided to go with the black floormats with a cashmere interior.
Did the dealer do a swap or did you have to pay extra for another set of floormats (black)
Thanks

I guess that will be on a dealer by dealer basis. Ask them to do that, all they can say is no.

I, personally, bought my all weather mats from Sewell Lexus.

I could not keep my grey mats clean. So I installed black ones. Love em! I have a near new set of grey ones if anyone wants them.
