Default Navigation DVD upgrades

Does anyone know how often Lexus comes out with an upgrade for the Navigation DVD and what they cost? I have read of wide ranging prices from $300-$500. Are the upgrades generally worth getting?
Thanks

Seems to be about once every year or two.

Whether you want to upgrade or not depends on each edition. Sometimes they get rid of some annoying feature, but more often than not, they make it harder to hack and do the things you'd expect a navi would let you do.

You travel often so you might consider updating more often just to make sure your disc is always up to date. Most people never update b/c streets in their area don't change that often.

I live in a rapidly expanding area. I'm not changing for at least a couple years b/c even if I get the next update, my area still might not be that updated. The current disc, along with online maps, is still a couple years behind reality for my neck of the woods.

Every year around November. The prices for the DVD mapping disc varies from $299.99 (online Lexus dealer), to about $365 from your local Lexus dealer. The final price a dealer charges is up to the individual dealer.

i dont know if it's worth getting. I mean sure there are a lot of newer roads here and there, but overall the information should remain accurate. I mean, up until now, I still use my old 1986 Thomas guide that my dad gave me.

Aside from new roads, there are a lot of new points of interest.......like new McDonalds. LOL

If they release a new version with the override built back in, you will see a lot of folks buying the upgrade!
