Im looking to replace some interior bulbs of the ES350... i was thinking to first focus on the door lights and the foot light. ( change them to white) does anyone know the size of the bulbs i should buy and how i should go about safely taking them out? any feedback what so ever will be greatly appreciated.
When that is all done, i also place on changing the color of the dash lights to match the speedometer. does anyone also know how to go about carefully removing the dash to get to those lights?

ng123ray,
I too am interested in replacing the green lights in the console for white lights that match the dash. I have a 2000ES300 with the same color scheme that has bothered me for years.

i know you have to take out the center.. the LCD screens and clock will have to remain green.. unless i find a way to replace those to... but the buttons are definately doable... lot of work though..

check out the thread from the second Generation IS. It has everything except the footwell lights. If you don't feel like reading the 500 posts, here is what I've done and used.
These are the ones I've worked on and they all use that same size bulb. The 194 bulb. 168 also fits.
1. Vanity Lights
2. Door Courtesy Light
3. Outer Foot Lights
4. Trunk Light
Heres a list of all the bulbs I've tried
1.) J-55/194/168 High Power LED by polarg
2.) 194 High Power Flanks by v-leds.com
3.) 168 PIAA Extreme HIDs
4.) 27 smt light by vleds <---- Car is in the shop so I can't wait to replace the polargs I have in the outer foot lights. I'm not even sure if they fit; if they don't, I'll end up looking for somewhere else to stick them, maybe as parking lights. So the story: I did a hit and run on a pedestrian and left me with a shattered windshield, scratched front bumper and a dented hood. the hit and run is not a joke... I'll tell the details another day... to be continued.
From experimenting with the bulbs, the High power Flank works best for the door lights, the trunk lights and the visor lights since the flanks aim in one direction. I'll install one type of bulb in each area and post pics as soon as i get my car back.

the way you get into the mirror is the same as the IS. if you have problems, I can take some photos or video since I plan to go in there as soon as I get my car back.
Also if you skip to Post #35, they start mentioning about taking off the mirror first. Thats the way I did it.

i have a lexus IS loaner car over the weekend... ( my ES has hot air blowing out the rear vents so im getting that checked out) well keeping it short, the IS has WHITE foot lights... O_O... soo i tried to see if i can take out the LED portion of the car... and i was successful.... apparently, you jsut push the LED into the car... and it should jsut pop out from behind.... can someone confirm this with the ES? i'll post some pictures to see if the footlights are the same too... so i can pick some up from the dealers or something....

Can someone confirm that these are the same as the ES350 foot light LEDs? im hoping for a positive yes.... X_X....
Instructions on how to take out the LED foot light (IS... not sure if its the same for the ES... i'd assume it would be... )
take your thumb and push on the LED... (push hard) it should pop out of place.. and for the driver side, you should be able to reach behind to pull it out...
passenger side is a bit more difficult since its sealed off.. you'll have to find a way to pull on the cover so you'd be able to reach behind it...
i just need to confirm the size... if it looks the same.. etc.. so if someone would to be so kind and try it on the driver side, since it's easier...
if no one tries this... i'll give it a shot when my ES350 gets back from the dealers...

Thanks NG. It is exciting to know their is hope for changing the footwell lights to white.
The soonest I can try removing them is Monday morning. Is there anyway to remove the LED from the casing? If not, looks like we'll need to get IS OEM ones from the dealer... assuming they are the same size.
