Default To those who change their own oil

To those who change their own oil. Its usually a good idea to change the crush washer on the oil drain plug at each change. To those who do so, does it come with the Toyota/Lexus oil filter or do you buy them seperately. If purchased seperately, as they a generic part or is do you just purchase them from Toyota or Lexus (curious how much they run each)
Thanks

The crush washer does not come with the new filter. Some dealers are good enough to tape one to the filter box a no cost. Just ask when you pick up your filter, the parts guy will probably just give it to you.

I've been changing my own oil for 35 years now and have replaced the oil pan plug washer I think twice. I've never had a leak from this point.

So, no, I don't replace this washer and obviously don't think it's needed. However, you can spring for a new one if it makes you feel better. It doesn't come with the oil filter kit.

BTW, always change all the O-rings provided in the filter kit when you change the oil.

Default yeah

both my father and brother are mechanics, so oil change and tune ups and all that is done at home.. and yeah..we always get a washer taped to the oil filter, but usually buy it.. depending on if we know the person at the counter... every 3000 miles.

Don't really make it a habit of changing the oil filter washer, it's not a crush washer, it's made of some composite material, like a quarter with a hole drilled through it I guess every 5 changes I put a new 1 on cause I have them

I've always changed my own oil and sort of enjoy it. I work behind a keyboard most days so a concrete floor and oily hands is a welcome retreat every 3k miles. My first oil change on the es350 is about a week away. Are there any lube fittings? My suburban has many, many, grease fittings to lube but my 2000 ES300 has none. What's the story on the ES350. I don't expect to find any, but thought I'd ask.

No lub fittings. They are really taking away all your fun, aren't they?
