I have said before Watanabe is an enigma and the bus. week article just reinforces my view of him as that. He is either unaware being so high up in the company or he is wearing his PR hat, when he implies they are on a program of quick recalls. I would find it difficult to believe he is unaware of the ES transmission being a problem and seems he should be aware of the engine knocking.

There are a lot of ES350 owners experiencing or having experienced issues that would take exception to this from Watanabe.

""Early detection and resolution is the key, and I'm telling [Toyota] people not to hesitate to recall. That's very important for customers. Rather than extending the period before a recall, or thinking the problem isn't serious enough, the most important thing is to try to service those cars and correct difficulties early on.

Hey, ES350Bob, yep, I can't disagree with you but what senior leader knows whats going on? I wonder sometimes. I like to think that I do but I am not a CEO either!

I agree and is why I view him an enigma, part of the time I believe he should know and be far more involved on the quality side to the point he has no time for so many interviews and that he is part of the problem and he needs to go; and then I have to also give him a wide swath because in the past, when I owned my owned manufacturing company, I myself had been caught in odd predicaments where an employee of mine implied something that just was not so or had failed to act. Fortunately for me it was not on the level that would or could permanently damage my business reputation or where one mistake could cost me the price of an LS460LWB . But there I was clueless none-the-less and as a result had some straightening out to do.

Welcome.. This is probably not the best place to ask this question. Do a search to see if the issue has already been discussed. If not, start a new thread (discussion)...
