Default Is the engine/transmission warranty 4 or 6 years?

Can anyone confirm the year/mileage of the factory warranty covering the engine and transmission? I believe it's 6 years/70,00 miles but wasn't sure. Just wanted to keep this in mind in case I ever have to deal with the shifting problems.

yes, you are correct about the period for your powertrain coverage

I also have a hunch that if there was some kind of tranny failure after the 70K mile powertrain warranty expires, Lexus may still replace it if the failure was due to flaring. There have been so many issues, I gotta believe (and hope) they will stand behind their product!

Although it is up to each particular dealership, if you are a good service customer the chances of this happening are pretty high. Each dealership has a 'goodwill' policy for good customers who experience failures outside of warranty coverage.

Like I said, it is up to each dealership, and may not happen if you only come to your dealership for warranty work.
