I've read that the third party ipod interface kits for lexus can also play video off the ipod on to the nav screen. Does the one installed by lexus also have that feature?

 

No, even with ML system, the factory aux input is audio only.

 

This one being sold on ebay claims it will play video on the nav system. Do you think I should get this instead? Will lexus install it or i have to find someone else?

Someone needs to be the first to try it out and report back to us.

I seriously doubt that any Lexus dealership will install this. You could go to any reputable car audio dealership or install it yourself. The instructions make installation look pretty easy.

The documentation I've seen for the Toyota/Lexus iPod integration kit on Techinfo makes no mention of video capability. It's described as being for the Lexus GS car, but my guess is it works with all Toyota/Lexus cars having Satellite-ready audio systems. The drawback: The documentation says that when the iPod interface cannot coexist with a factory Satellite radio. This is because the iPod interface utilizes the Satellite mode of the audio head unit. I'm surprised they designed it that way.
