Tire Recommendation

Note that if you replace the OEM 215/55-17 with 235/50-17 it is almost the same height circumference and revs but about 3/4 of an inch wider. Toyo makes a 235/50-17. I don't think the extra width will affect anything but make the tire better suited for the wheel well (a little fatter).
Yes I realize/know that any drop in fuel economy from the use of wider tires will not be readily noticeable (i.e., we're not talking about a drop of a few MPG or more), but it is measurable...just like there would be if you were to underinflate your tires by 1 or 2 psi.
And yes, I understand that some folks will do certain things...even if it means having to give up/lose something else in return.

my original michelin energy tires lasted 24k. i called michelin slightly disgruntled and they recommended the new primacy tire. i've only had them for 1000 miles but so far they seem equivalent to the oem michelins. also they sent me a rebate for $60 for "friends and family" as a goodwill gesture even though i'm not a friend or family but it was certainly appreciated
