Lack of LED's
Why is there such a lack of LED's on the ES350? The inside has lots, but besides the 3rd brake light assembly and the rear tag lamps, there isn't a single one on the exterior! Why? The brake lights should be LED, the turns, DRL's, ect... and why did they select only certain interior lights to be LED? The map lights and dome lights are LED, but the sun visor mirror lights are not! My neighbors $20k Saturn has a full set of LED brake lights stock!!
Also, why doesn't this car have bi-xenon HID's? I don't want halogen high's on a car in this price range.
Would all of the idiot lights be set off on the dash if I swapped out all the remaining bulbs to LED without installing resistors? How sensitive is this car?

You know, I was disappointed also...even a Honda Accord has LEDs now . I hope Lexus makes this improvement in the future. However, I still like the looks and the ride of my ES all things considered!

Because as nice as the newer ES's are (huge improvement over the first gen) they are still the lower line Lexus and Lexus wants you to step up to a more expensive product in their line to get the options you want. It's just marketing.
If they were all the same, they'd only sell two models. SUV and CAR.
ES= great budget 4 dr
LS= big budget 4 dr
IS = great budget 2 dr
SC= big budget 2 dr
It's all in the food chain. They want you to step up and pay for the options you want so badly. Seems only right. I think newer ES owners should be damn proud to have so much car for the money in comparison to the 1st gen ES.

I think he meant:
IS = low budget sports sedan
GS = big budget sports sedan
But yeah, my neighbor's Camry has LED tail lights and it bothers me that my Lexus doesn't. Especially since Toyotas have a long history of premature failing tail lights.
