ES 350 and 2nd Gen iPhone issues?
Has anyone had an issue with the driver's voice cutting in and out when using the bluetooth in a non-nav 2008 ES 350?
We have adjusted the angle of the center vents to keep air from hitting the mic.
Apple, AT & T, and Lexus Corp seem to be stumped. The Forum has solved issues before.....so have at it!
Other info-
The First Gen iPhone worked with no issue for this guest in this car. When he uses the bluetooth to call his answering machine at home and leaves a 3-4 minute answering message to himself to test the reception, it has no issue and no drop-offs. When he uses the phone without bluetooth, he has no issues on the same roads, so the network does not appear to be an issue. It appears to only happen when he is carrying on a conversation with someone else from the car's bluetooth. He has replaced the phone one time to make sure it was an issue with the phone. The 2nd phone did the same as the first.

I've noticed this as well. Have paired three different phones to my non-nav 350 and the iPhone 3G is the only one that gives me problems. People complain that I'm cutting in and out when I have full service. Just one of the many problems with the new iPhone, though it's not the highest on my list of complaints!

I've got an iPhone 3G and a 2007 ES350 with Nav. I have no problems with the bluetooth on mine. I initially had a bit of an echo problem, but fiddling with the volume control on the phone itself when on a call fixed that. The car's mic's sensitivity is adjustable; take it to the dealer and have them turn it up a bit.

Well, I thought mine was working fine too (other than an echo). That is until I got caller after caller complaining about the connection and how they could only hear every other syllable.

400H & iphone
I too was having my voice cutting in and out with my iphone 3G. I found in an apple forum that there is a "bluetooth volume" control in the iphone. It is accessed after you have a call in progress and you push the phones volume button. If you run it all the way to max, the cutting out and echo problem is much better, but still not perfect. If you update or reset your iphone you will need to reset the bluetooth volume control on your next call ... other than that the setting stays. Does anyone know what the "Volume Control Set" on the bluetooth page of the service menu does? I suspect it may be possible to tweak the bluetooth service menu settings and eventually get the iphone 3G to work as well as my old Treo!
