Last thursday I went to the dealer for the tpms light being on. I was told there is a button under the dash that will allow you to have two sets of wheels registered to the tpms system. Somehow the button was pushed and the system was looking for the second set of wheels I do not have!!! Always carry a tire pressure guage in the car and a mini compressor to add air to the tires any time anyplace!!!!!!

Default Finally found the way to fix tire inflation light.

I own a 2004 LS 430 in 3 and half years of driving the car over 130,000 miles I have never seen the tire inflation light come on until I purchased new tires and the next morning the TIL came on had the tires air pressure checked all at 32psi. They instructed me on how to reset the button under the dash the light weeny off and away I went except it would come n about every 30 miles I must have hit the reset button 20 time over the next week.
My service adviser at the dealership said to press the button until the light went off (which I had been doing) this push it again until it lit again with a different message I believe it said initiate.
Anyway after the second push to reset it wen off and has not come back on.PTL

I purchased a 2007 and the full size spare was missing. I found a used OEM wheel and I have a tire to mount on it. Do I have to go to the dealer and buy the pressure sensor monitor and have it reset to turn off the warning light? I was told the sensors all have to be the same manufacturer?

No you dont have to go to the stealership.

You can get an aftermarket tpms yourself and find a shop to install and program it to the car ecu.
OR go to a shop that sells a generic one and can program at the same time.

BTW Dealer cost for oem unit will probably be $150-160 for unit, install and program

Any tire shop can take care of this for you. They all sell, install and can program TPMS units. These days it is part of buying tires as every car has them and they die after 8 - 10 years, requiring replacement.
Anytime you buy tires on a car over 7 years old that has the original TPMS they should be replaced at that time to avoid problems later and the added expense of replacing them on your existing tires.
