This car is worth the time just for the sheer novelty of driving a cloth-seated Lexus. Good luck finding these cars when you need them!

Actually this is the second one that I've seen. When shopping for my wife's ES, the dealer had one the same color (the cloth interior ones are available only in Tungsten Pearl or Smoky Granite Mica) but only had the Preferred Package, no all weather mats, like the one on EBay. BTW, the one on EBay is priced OK, but no bargain.

I'm guessing you can get these down well into the $2X-thousand range.

I think you only get these kind of ES's in certain regions. I've never seen one here in ATL. Looks kinda strange...with the cloth seats. What a difference a little leather...and more wood makes....I would also expect you could these in the high 20's. I think would go with a loaded XLE....instead....

We get about 5 people a month that want to order a no-options ES, with no sunroof, cloth seats, etc.

They quickly abandon that idea when they find out there is a non-refundable $10,000 deposit required.

The dealer should throw this one in his service loaner fleet.

No Sunroof (or Sunroof Delete) is not an option on the ES.

They will build it that way if you ask.

As I indicated, Black (Obsidian) is not an option with cloth, you must have seen a SGM one.

I've sat in one (SGM). While the cloth is on the plushy side, it still felt kinda cheap and reminded me of grandpa's old trousers. The standard Camry cloth feels more upscale to me.

I really don't understand the thinking of people who would buy that. Why not just buy a used ES? Or, if you make payments, would the leather make that much of a difference in the price? If you could even afford an ES, what would an extra $20/mo mean to you?

I agree; the cloth doesn't look good. It seems to be the old furry and dusty kind, and it has a wavy pattern on it.

Okay, to go to this extent, why not just buy a Camry, get some Lexus badges for about $200 off e-bay and save some time and money.
