Default Why would there be a rough ride on a new es350, price paid

Thanks for the good insights on the boards. I finally picked up my new 2008 ES350 on Sat night. It is a truffle mica with nav Pebble Beach edition. I paid $33.6k plus ttl. They sold the one I had driven but no worries I got a brand new one with only 11 miles. Then I drove it home. It isnt nearly as smooth as the ones I test drove. The steering wheel vibrates and the ride is bumpier than I recall. Any ideas why?

Thanks!

Sounds like a wheel balance problem. My wife's ES had the same issue when we drove it home for the first time. They rebalanced all the wheels at the 1K mile adjustment and service.

When I picked up my car, all of the tires were over inflated from shipment from Japan (they set them at about 40 psi for the boat ride). The dealer set them to the recommended PSI (32) and the ride was much smoother.

Mine too had the tires overinflated to 40 psi when I picked it up and as soon as I reduced that down to 33 everything was great. If not you could need to have them re-balanced or you may even have a defective tire. Go with the inflation pressure first though.
