I have a two-years old ES 350.

Last week, I made a sudden gear change from D to P while pressing the break pedal, but before complete stopping. The car stopped with a little bit big noise in the trasmission box.
For a week, the car seems Okay by today.

I worry about the transmission. It will be Okay? The trans is automatic, not manual. So, isn't there any auto-protection?

I'm afraid to check it in a dealer, because a dealer could make my trans warraty invalid for my own fault.

Could anybody answer it?

When you shift into Park, a pawl goes into the transmission locking it to prevent it from moving. I bet when you stopped quickly, you rocked back and forth for a second or two. You're OK, just don't make this a habit

You're right. At that time, my car jerked back and forth one time coughing loudly and badly. Thanks. I'll be more careful.

your transmission should be fine. I however, poured water on my engine covers, when apparently my headers were still hot and then it steamed...that was a regret....i hope it will be ok.
