Lawsuits, excess depreciation of $5K, this is getting way too funny.

Default Me too!

This just happened to me last night. I bought a 2008 ES 350 last Saturday and last night (six days later), I was rear ended by some loser. I haven't had my initial quote yet, but the frame is in place. Her car (a Honda civic) was totalled. Fortunately, I am fine. Any advice on repairs, etc. would be helpful. My insurance co. has been notified, but the other car's insurance will be paying.

As to the insurance. Ontario has a no-fault policy. It doesn't mean no fault is assigned. It means that your right to sue is limited. It doesn't matter what company I choose they all have to follow the same laws. Miniz, this is Canada. We don't run and get a lawyer every time something goes wrong. It doesn't sound fair but it has kept insurance rates from spiraling out of control. Yeah, maybe I could get few k out of the guy if I was able to sue but this would be eaten up by increased premiums and legal fees.
I'm a lawyer...and I like the way you think. I can't get over these guys who are looking at photos and disputing the estimate from a shop that has seen the car.

Maybe because the people Disputing know more than the shop thats looked at it? I know I do!
Photos show me car has Unibody damage, to what extent? Unknown until a teardown is done and the car is Set up and measured NOT guages, Make sure they have a 3 dimential system.
The driver side Qtr panel is Buckled at the corner area of the Light, Slight but Buckled you can see the reflection distorts.
Photos are hard to see, The exhaust looks low on left side, Buckled rail? or just the photos angle?.Make sure it is also checked, the car that hit her mave have hit the exhaust also.
Rear body panel is In which is why the light is sticking out. All the welds on the Rear panel need to be checked to see how stressed they are.

I would also check the RIGHT side qtr panel at the same area the left side is sticking out for a buckle. As well as the top of both qtrs where they meet the decklid. When the rear panel gets hit there it PULLS the right side in and leaves a very hard to see curved buckle.

Glad everyone is ok.. Please make sure the shop checks everything.!
