Default UL 10-Spoke Wheel Care: Polish Or Wax?

I've called several dealers, and Lexus, too, but I can't get a definitive answer as to whether these wheels are polished metal or have a clearcoat finish. People in the parts and service departments are almost evenly split -- I'd really like to know what I need to use to protect these wheels!

Alloy wheels take a lot of beating, and need to be protected, IMHO. Therefore, they need and deserve a good coat of wax. Whenever I wash my car, I always wax the front bumper, the mirrors and the wheels.

Okay! My salesman at Rallye finally got back to me with a definitive answer. There were a couple factory reps there today, who said the finish is not clearcoat, so the appropriate care is soap-and-water with a soft bristle brush for cleaning, and a non-abrasive synthetic wax if desired for protection.
