How to set ES350 to start with Outside Air (instead of recirculate air)
I noticed that my 2007 ES350 always has "recirculated" air selected whenever i start the car. Is there a way to reset/program this to always start with "Outside" air? I hate to have to manually hit the button every morning.

Mine does the same thing. I'm not sure if there is a way to change it to always start at outside air. I did not see this as one of the personalized settings that Lexus offers. The default is set to recirculated air, I just switch over to 'outside' air. I would check my owners manual or check with the service dept at your local Lexus dealer.

I don't think that can be changed and although I've forgotten the explanation for this it was rational and had something to do with exhausting stale and hot air from the car before going into the regular AC mode which then will change to recirc if you have your car set to do so which is a user programable setting. I have had other cars that even if set to recirculate would always start up taking in outside air. In fact I can only recall one that did not and I think if might have been a Chevrolet pickup.

I got the setting changed by the Lexus technician when i brought my car in for 50K service. (The 50K service cost $172.xx + tax. Yikes but i got an IS as a loaner car so that worked out ok). I had to let them know i prefer outside air during startup.
So right now my car starts with outside air by default (when the is AC off). The only bad thing is that it may not be something i can change back on my own. I was told it involves modifying via the onboard computer or some sort.
