Ticking Noise from AC vent blowing at windshield
I just picked up my 09 ES350 from dealership the other day. And noticed some sort of ticking noise coming from AC vent when I am blowing at the windshield only. Anyone has idea what could be causing it? Local Lexus dealer said they have to take the dash apart and see what is going on and I am worried that there will be more noises after everything is taken apart and put back together. Any suggestion?

I would do a self inspection first. Turn the AC on and lift the hood and see if you can determine where the ticking noise is coming from. Check the vent. Do you see anything like paper or plastic? Switch from blowing the air at the windshield only mode to another mode. Do you still hear it? If not there may be something in the vent. When I picked up my car I noticed that the dealer had not removed all the shipping plastic from around the windows and whenever I would open the driver window at a certain 'point' I would get noise. I could actually see the plastic that was still stuck in the window. Small problem and fix. However removing the dash I would not recommend until every avenue has been exhausted. This is a new car and I can't see why such a drastic measure is needed at this time. I would even get a second opinion from another Lexus dealer. Good Luck
