Paint damage to hood...
Has anyone had any kind of paint damage (as in splattering in a large (12"x12" or so) area) looking like some kind of acid etching right through the paint? Could this be due to the adhesives or solvents used during a windshield replacement?

If you have recently had a windshield replacement I think you are on the right track. That sounds exactly like what probably happened to your car to cause this condition. Stay with it and good luck.
