Scratched stock rims on 08 ES 350
I read this forum regularly for advice and it is all good stuff!! Got a problem and need some direction: My 9 year old son scratched one of my rims (coincidentally on the day I paid the car off!!!) with his scooter. I would call it a moderate scratch. Dealer has no touch up paint for it and wont disclose who fixes their rims. Any ideas on getting touch up paint/spray to at least disguise the scratch? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks

I am in the same boat with the graphite color wheels on our Ultra. Lots of curb rashes but I think they could be touched up to look a lot better if I could only find the right color of paint. Lexus dealer no help.

I had good success with Dupli-Color Wheel Coating in silver color. I've repaired a deep scratch / gouge in my wife's ES. The color is nearly identical. Also get the clear color to over coat. Sorry, I can't vouch for whether their Graphite color is a good match. Go to their website to get details (they have a how to video too!). Good Luck!

I have a stock rim that has never been on my car I'd sell you, if you were interested. I hope offering this on the forum is not a problem.
I ordered chrome Ultra Lux wheels for my 08 (My car is not an Ultra Lux, I just liked those chrome wheels better then the standard chrome wheels), when I got it new. One of them was scratched when I received the car from Lexus and they replaced the wheel (after some argument), and I ended up putting the scratched UL wheel on my spare tire, which left me with the original, standard rim as a left over still sitting in a box for the last year. It has never been on a car. In the trunk yes but not on the car.
pm me if interested. If you do a search on this forum you will see where I brought up my scratched rim a year or so ago.

I loved the chrome wheel version too but I bought some non OEM chromed versions of a 2004 Lincoln LS wheel a in 2005 and experienced the chrome flaking off the rims after the warranty period. Was wary after that.

Not sure if they have someone close in your area but my boss used this company (mobile...comes to you)...he could not tell anything was done after they finished

Here in California, we have an auto supply store called Kragens that carried the silver colored Dupli-Color Wheel Coating. The clear coating was harder to find. I finally had it mail ordered from AutoBarn. BTW, AutoBarn carries the entire line of Dupli-Color Wheel Coatings. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
