Default Navigation Directions

If I remember correctly when voice directions in my 2007 es 350 were given by the nav the radio went silent during the directions so you could hear them. In my 2010 es 350 the music continues when tne directions are given making them difficult to understand.

Is there a remedy for this or am I mistaken? I don't see anything in the manual.

When I was test driving my 2010 the salesman told me that the radio did not mute - and mine does not - but I haven't really confirmed that there is no way to do so.

Enjoy your new ar.

Yes the 2009s and 2008s also do not mute the music. If anyone knows how to change the settings so it does mute the music for nav announcements, I would love to know as well.

The radio volume does lower to easily hear the NAV instructions.

I've a 2007 and the radio does not mute when spoken directions are given by the nav. Only the left door speaker mutes.

I agree with you that this makes hearing those directions somewhat difficult. You could try increasing the volume of the nav voice to compensate.

I forgot,you're right.
I did have to bring the NAV volume way up.
The Toyota NAV stinks for a few reasons.
First is no entry can be made while moving and using voice works well with Bluetooth,NAV,not so much.
