A very good price would be 88% of MSRP. That's what I paid for the car I bought my parents a year ago. In California you may be able to get as low as 86% of MSRP, but in rest of country 88% of MSRP is a good target.
For your car that would be 39,036.

Let me get this straight. Dealer asking 32,000 for a msrp ES of $44,360. Are you kidding? That's nearly 28% off. Why are you even asking. BUY BUY BUY.
In fact if you don't i will. What's dealers name, phone number etc.

Yes that;s a good deal even if its a 2009 used model. Unless he made a typo. Like I said a good target for a new 2010 would be 39,040 for an ES UL with 44,360 Msrp.

That's an insane offer! Go for it. I bought my ES in end of December. UL with Mark Levison sound/navigation and parking assist. Sticker was like $44,600. They didn't even have the color combo I wanted. Only one UL on lot. Went out of their way for a few days to get me one and got the car for $41K. And I thought that was a good deal since these models with those options are a bit hard to get. So $32K? WOW!

obviously it was a typo....common sense says. sure it was prob 42k...not 32k. about to start process myself, would like UL pkg-2010, currently have es330 04 model....been a very good car except for the noticeable white marks on hood.....black car.

Yeah like I said 88% of MSRP is achevable. Edmunds carspace forum has a lot of buyers posting recent deals.
It will take some patience. It took me 3 weeks to negotiate them down to 88% of MSRP. 2 dealers accused me of being unfair and liked me out, but in the end 2 dealers also offered me the car at 88% of MSRP. I took the one who had the one with the most recent ship date (car was still on the boat) as opposed to one that had been on lot for a couple of months.
Just be nice, firm and patient. Meet with them once, and then let them call you a few times to earn your business. Both the dealers that gave in to my offer held out until the last week of the month.

Look at this link. A guy on edmunds got the ultraluxury model with the same msrp that you want for 38k and change. So this confirms target I am suggesting of 39340.
