Sorry there Macklin. I DID read that before I posted and clicked the link....which brings you to another post saying the manual has instructions and also saying you press this button under the steering column.

My question was does pressing this button just reset/stop the warning light or is there a way to actually set the psi alert level?

When I get home from my office I will look in my manual and see if it states that in there.

Sorry, thought that was the thread that gave detailed instructions. (I did not read it through. ) I know there is one in here somewhere that does. But, yes. It will reset to the level your tires are at. Want to do it when your tires are cold and adjusted the way you want them.

My dealership obviously set mine just right. It goes off when any tire gets to 27, which is nice when the summer ends and the tire pressure slowly drops with the temps. Even better reminder when you pick up a nail without knowing it.

No problem. I don't think I was really explaining my question to well either. Without having the manual handy, I was just trying to understand if the reset button simply stopped the warning light, or actually set to a new psi.

In any case, was easily understood when I finally got to read the book. I lowered the psi from 40 down to about 33 and reset there. Car is back to feeling the way it did prior to my 1000 mile service.

I will call my service advisor this week, but does anyone know WHY the dealer would pump up the tires to 40psi when the recommended amount on the door and in manual is 30 or so? Kind of makes me wonder if service dept really knows what they are doing.
Although they did do a good job on the pedal mod, which I was nervous about having done.

I've heard that the tires are over inflated at the factory to prevent flat spots from developing on the tires in transit from Japan.

Not sure why the dealers like to inflate them (or leave them) higher than the recommended pressure though. My '07 was delivered with around 40 psi in all of the tires. The '10 was OK with 34 psi in each.

Sounds like your Dealer did not do a thorough prep. Just like the thread starter Mom's car.

Might want to check the mats if you happen to be given a loaner car...
