Default 2 smalls bars in the trunk under the sub ??

What does thoses bars used for ? I notice that it rattles alot when the bass hit. Seems like they are to thin to be strutbars. The fact that they are joined in the middle under the rear deck platform, it vibrate to any bass sound. Can it be removed because i tried to wrap foam them, that doesn't work.

thank you.

just dont crease it. if the car is still running good, brakes functioning normally, you're fine. you probably didnt damage anything from just shaking it a little.

thank you for the precautionary tip, greatly appreciated. Did you noticed the vibration of those lines when the bass hit ?

The 2 bars located in the trunk near the speakers are the torsion springs that hold the trunk open. These are solid steel bars and are held in place by a few clamps. If the bars come out of the clamps they will rattle. They should not be loose. There are no brake lines or fuel lines inside the trunk.

I am also experiencing the same rattle noise from these two torsion rods, when the trunk is open these two rods seems to be tight and free from rattle, the problem is when the trunk is closed then they became loose and make rattles when the bass is up, anyone got a fix of it ? I've tried to stick some styrofoam in between and while seems to work but from time to time I have to re-position them and clean up the trunk from all the falling loose pieces, wonder if anyone has a better fix......

The bars can be adjusted to put more spring tension on the trunk (more opening force). This is a step in the instructions when adding the factory trunklid spoiler. Maybe the dealer can "tighten" them up for you?
