I guess I'm not going to be able to convince anyone of my method of thought, but everyone is entitled to their own views.

Suppose I special order this vehicle, or it exists on the East Coast, what type of extra costs would I incur and would I still qualify for the lease special on the ES right now?

Silvah, have you looked at the 2010 Infiniti G37? I looked at the car when I was shopping, and IIRC they offered Itelligent Cruise Control. If that car fit your mom's needs might be worth a look. Maybe they're more readily available.

Just order the car. It makes no sense to try and locate a brand new car 5000 miles away from you, when you can just order it. The only time it makes it sense to locate anything is for used cars; especially rare, hard to find, and out-of-production.

If you order it, you will incur no extra costs (in fact, it should be cheaper) and you can qualify for lease specials. Cars that have been ordered by the dealer for lot inventory are generally financed (some of the larger dealers do pay cash for them). The longer the car sits on the lot...... the more the dealer has to pay in monthly finance charges. That is why a dealer will always try to sell you something on the lot before even talking about a special order. They will often try to dismiss orders and act like it will cost more, but that isn't the case. A factory order is generally covered by a down payment on your part, then when it arrives, your finance/cash pays off the car so the dealer never has to finance it with their lender. It can save them a lot of money. I have used this to my advantage many times and saved even more money on ordered cars.

When we searching for our Ultra in 2007, my dealer located "on the boat" and it arrived in about three weeks in the exact color combination we wanted on the East coast.
