Was the replacement hose the same old hose or the new and improved hose?

With a little luck, maybe my replacement hose will blow and take the diesel engine noise engine with it. Lexus Platinum Warranty and the hose issue may give me a new engine under the circumstances.

Default Vvt-i) oil hose [

I recently experienced the oil hose leak problem and had to put 5 quarts of oil in just to make 10 miles back home. I have 110k miles on my es350 and over 4 years old so did not qualify for the roadside tow from Lexus but was told I would be re reimbursed by Lexus. The dealer replaced the bad design line with one of the same. So far my email to Lexus has not been responded to. The also reprogrammed the computer and now I have a 2-3 second hesitation of motor response when I pull out to pass on the high way. I only get a couple of drips on the floor everyday. This may be oil that was not cleaned after the the repair.

.When I had recall service performed,,.I had asked for for metal line, but the local dealer installed the new and improved rubber hose...Approximately a year later, I realized the metal line was not used... I contacted Lexus Corp...I was told that Corp would only pay for this service once under the recall....If I wanted the metal line, I would have to pay for it, at a cost of $264.......In my opinion, the metal line is the only acceptable fix...Very unhappy that dealer failed to honor my request.....

If their replacement line fails, then you have the ammo to have anything that would disintegrate (engine, clean up etc) be replaced due to a faulty part again.

This happened to me last Summer...and I was far from any Lexus dealership...I also had around 96K on the odo...The dealership hired a local wrecker to pick it up... drove 2 hours one way and did ALL of the repairs free of charge and did all other recall work to my vehicle...they even offered me a Lexus for the 3 days it took to fix, even gave me a full tank of gas.....hats off to Greenwich Lexus in Conn!

That should have cost them a pretty penny. Was this the replacement line letting go or the original, factory line?
