TSIB aka Technical Service Information Bulletin
Hello,
I am an '07 ES 350 owner and new to this forum. I didn't think that I would need such a forum since Lexus was so well built. The recent news regarding Toyota and Lexus have prompted me to do some research. My research led to a long list of TSIBs on this forum (thanks to some really resourceful people), but most of these TSIBs did not contain an expiration date like the one posted on Lexus.com.
My car is experiencing the following:
Engine Ticking Noise (L-SB-0028-09)
Shift Flare (L-SB-0027-09)
Does anyone know what is a typical length on a TSIB?
How best to bring this up to the service manager?

Welcome to the forum.
most TSIBs are valid for 4 years/50K miles. I am sure there are always exceptions. For example, the transmission flare should be good to 70K miles since your tranny is covered under the extended powertrain warranty.
Good luck

Pole Position
Generally speaking, the "no charge" coverage of a TSB falls under the factory warranty of the failed component. However, we all know how Lexus handles customer concerns and it is more than likely that Lexus will cover a failed part, even if the car is out of warranty, as long as there is an existing TSB on the failed component.

Everyone, thank you for your replies and inputs. My car is definitely under the 4yrs but unfortunately over 80k miles. So I might have to work harder. I too were disappointed to see so many TSBs on my Lexus.
Thank you.
Thank you.
