Angry Water Pump leak 07 ES350

Oh well, another glitch with my certified 07 purchased in Oct. 09. I had it in 2 weeks ago for tweek of computer for brake/pedal, redesign of pedal, mats etc. and the oil hose potential problem covered in a TSB. 2 days later noticed a brown blob on floor. And no, the dog didn't get in the garage. Anyway, that never re-appeared but this Monday a redish leak which i first thought was transmission fluid (from old days). Turns out it's the coolant and needs a new water pump. GREAT.
So for all, if you notice a red watery slimy spot on your garage floor could be the water pump.
Previously another leak shortly after we bought (a crimped hose or whatever).
Thank goodness we didn't buy from Joe Blow off the street. My first experiences with a Lexus. Shoud have kept our 03 Acura TL.
Hopefully the ES will shine for next 3 years. If not, back to Acura.

That stinks. At least you bought a CPO. I did as well. Paid a nice premium for the CPO. However, there's been some things that should have been taken care of before being sold as a CPO.

Talking Reply to overclock.

Agree it stinks. Luck of the draw (or in this case purchase). But yep, thank goodness a CPO.
Actually thought i'd never buy used, but prices of so called premium cars is getting out of my league. And with the CPO (although pricier) they did put on new tires, brakes, this/that etc. But a couple earlier leaks and issues and now this not setting well.
There are some very nice cars although smaller somewhat in the mid 20's to 30m. Subaru Legacy, Acura TSX, HOnda Accord etc. My wife's always wanted a Lexus, so we found the color she likes (Ruby Red) etc. Hopefully it'll be flawless now for some time. With 3 years up to 100m miles etc. that's some comfort as well as 24 hour roadside etc. But hope never needed.
Of course within a few weeks after purchase, out comes the chatter about runaway Lexus, Toyota problems yada yada yada.
Go figure. Had we known any of that (whether true or not) we would not have switched from Acura.
Maybe i need a pitcher of green beer to get thru this.

Raviola4: Sorry to hear about the water pump, how many miles on your '07 when it went?

Miggs: OMG, 12 hours! Where did you find this out? What's the labor rate of Lexus now, $150 an hour!
