This is way off topic, but does anyone know if you can get the sound system to mute automatically during a route guidance when a voice direction is given? I looked in the manual but didn't see any setting for it. It's a pain to have to manually turn down the radio etc. and then repeat a missed command. Thanks...

Bob,I don't think you can.You must put the volume up on the NAV voice.
Other auto company NAV systems will lower radio volume when travel directions are given but not Lexus.
I guess that's somehow a Toyota safety issue too.

Thanks Joe. I didn't think so, but was hoping there might be an answer that I missed.

The audio system mutes the driver-side door speaker when the GPS gives audible directions; GPS uses just the front/left channel of the audio system. If you've got the stereo up really loud, then the music blasting out of the other 3 channels will make it hard to hear the GPS nonetheless. Turning on the ASL for the GPS makes the GPS voice a bit louder and easier to hear. The control is on the GPS volume screen.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

ha ha.. that is so simple. if there is a passenger riding in front then make it enabled. like they do it for airbags.. if they keep a switch on the far right., i gues u will find drivers taking great pains to prod that switch while driving. ha ha.. may cause even more accidents.. LOL.

There is a way to turn off the "ECO" light. Refer to its manual for details.

I'm satisfied with the car except for one thing: w/ the moon roof the head room is too small for a big man like me (6'0"). I can feel it when my hair is sticky :-) Yeah, seat is set to lowest already.

Not sure if other drivers as tall as I am have the same problem.

Pros are the quiet smooth ride, i love the hid moving headlights, the softness of the leather, the memory adjustments (im 6'4 my wifes not), navi is great and all the features tied into it, air cooled seats in FL.

soud system was better in my fully loaded accord but its ok its my wifes car, and I cant stand the features that get disabled while moving I will be changing that soon. O also yes there is a bit of headroom problem but the moonroof is wide enoug that my head is mostly in the space and it doesnt bother me as I have always driven cars with not alot of headroom but some taller folks may find it annoying to be brushing the roof all the time. mY head doesnt hit but its definitely right there.
