can u turn the engine off. without turning off everything. it was simple to do with key ignition.

Engine has to be shut down 1st. After that if you hit the button, w/o stepping on the brake, you will go into ACC mode (radio, etc.). Repeating this procedure will get you to the ON mode where you can control windows.

Theres a trick, put it in neutral then press the start/stop button. It will turn off the engine but keep the electronics on. Then from there just put it into park. Be sure to hold the brake though.

I think I have done this on accident once when I was in a hurry. But instead of neutral, I left the gear in drive and pressed the start/stop button =P

Yes, if the car does not detect the smart key, it will shut down.

Are you sure? One time after pulling in the driveway I left the car running and got out to let my wife take it up the street to the 7-11 for something. A moment later she pulls up and sticks her hand out the window for the fob.

Thank goodness she noticed the warnings on the dash.

^^^^I don't know what will happen to the car if it's ACC mode without the fob. I do know, if the engine is running, and someone drives off without the fob, it will keep on running until it is turned off. That is, it will run, and not stop, unless it is turned off or runs out of fuel. When that happens, of course, it will not restart.

You surprise me, because last week, i notice that i've lost me smart key going to work, so i would think that the key most be lost from the place i've stopped since the car cannot run otherwise. So, the key can be lost before and the car is still running ? that changes the possible places that i may have lost my key.

So our car has an automatic engineshut off, but not the electrical shut off.

That's what I'm saying. The car will continue to run without the fob. But, of course, will not restart.
