There isn't a set mileage for tires and brakes. A lot of it depends on driving style, road condtions etc.

If they are the original tires and brakes, at 29k miles, it might not hurt to have them checked for wear.

You should be checking them on a regular basis (at each oil change when you rotate the tires is good time to check). Waiting until 29k miles to even check is a tad bit late. The tires may be down to the cords at this point or they may be good to go another 5k miles.

You are getting close - especially on the tires. The brakes depend a lot on your driving habits. I got maybe 27K on my OEM tires but much more on the brakes.

My rear brakes were replaced at 20,000 miles at n/c under Lexus direction (not a recall). The front brakes passed state inspection at 33,000 miles. Tires are another story. On 3rd set at 36,000 miles, original OEM Michelins did not last.

There are a bunch of tire threads on the board. A search for tire will bring them up.

The majority like the Michelin Primacy XV4 tires.

Michelin Primacy XV4 Warranty 60,000 Miles. That's very nice.

yes had very good luck with these ( Primacy ) tires on former es330 - 04 veh just sold recently. Will be putting Primacy on current 2010 veh when time comes to switch OEM Michelins....will say these OEM drive and feel very solid/comfortable just know the mileage output will be in 20--30k range .

Have the cheap Kumho Solus tires on mine for about 18,000 miles now. Still wearing well, plenty of tread left. I think they were $88 per tire 1-1/2 years ago from Tire Rack.

I checked the price for the 215-55-R17 Tires:
BFGoodrich - Advantage T/A = $155
Michelin - Energy™ MXV4® S8 = $203
Michelin Primacy XV4 = $155

Thanks in advance.

Tires have a shelf life of 6 years. After the tire is 6 years old, beware.
see the articles below:

Brakes, have the pads measured at maintenance intervals.
