Default 20's VS. 22's

I have an LS 460 with 22" wheels and it rides good and does not rub. I just purchased a 2007 ES 350 and I am not sure what size to go with. I see a ton of pictures online with 22's on an ES, but I am not sure if this keeps a good ride and does not rub. I want to make sure I can load 4 fat guys in the car and it not rub as it does not with my LS. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you want 22's you have to get a 235/30/22 tire 22x8 inch rims and if you only use loweering springs you have to shave the strut mount a lil bit to make them fit.If you install coilovers you wont need to shave any of that. if you go with a 22x8.5 inch wheel you will rub a little bit if you drop it unless you et the correct offset and maybe it won't. I have 22x8 frnt and 22x8.5 rear it rubs a little bit on really big dips but my offset is a little off.

Thanks for the info, I went ahead an ordered 20's. I had 22's on my previous car which was a Toyota Solara and I believe the suspension was very similar and I just cant forget all the rubbing and scrapping I dealt with. Thanks again

If you have a problem, make one of the fat guys walk.

FYI - you should be able to edit your posts.

22s huh? I'd really like to see how that looks on an ES. Post some pics when you get a chance....

I saw two mid 70's Monte Carlos in the Cleveland area. Had massive rims on them. looked like a cartoon character car, the ones that when they make a turn, the body tracks in one direction while the chassis stays straight. My daughter's boyfriend referred to them as Compton cars.

Are there such a thing as 24" / 26" / 28" rims? For cars?

Yeah there's a few cars like that around - I think the local club calls themselves "High Rollers" or something like that.

The worst one I can recall is an Olds Aurora with 24s. It's a tri-spoke design - looks awful.

I'm still interested in seeing how 22s fit on an ES... Bueller?

So did you have to do anything to the suspension to fit the 22's. What size tires etc are you running. Looking forward to your response...
